An Ideal Venue
A wide range of events and activities take place at The Drill Hall, Chepstow, one of the larger public venues in south Monmouthshire. With a seating capacity of 225, and a licence that covers a wide range of activities, the hall can cater for concerts, large lectures and community events but is flexible enough to meet the requirements of smaller occasions too. Events such as talks, cinema, streamings of ballet, theatre and opera, concerts (rock, classical, jazz and more), live theatre and children’s events and activities all work well in the hall. It is also well-used for smaller meetings, training days, and a wide range of therapy sessions and, of course, can be booked for children’s parties or larger private celebrations. It’s even been used as a registration and catering point at the start of a cycle race!
Meeting Room Hire
Affordable, Flexible Space
The Drill Hall’s meeting room is a flexible, affordable space that can be set up however you’d like. With its own toilet and kitchen sink, it’s a practical option for smaller gatherings, workshops or meetings. The room has a separate rear entrance, meaning you don’t need to pass through the main hall if another event is taking place. Space To Meet Your Needs
In addition to the main hall space (which can be set out in a wide variety of ways), the Drill Hall boasts a substantial stage, two back stage dressing rooms (each with its own toilet facilities), a large bar area and an adjoining kitchen.
Accessibility is good, with ramped access to the hall’s main entrance and, once inside, level access to the bar, kitchen, toilet facilities (including accessible toilet) and the main hall space. A ramp gives access to the stage and back stage facilities.

Audio and Visual
Technical Facilities
The Drill Hall’s technical audio/visual set-up (including microphones, digital project etc) is geared to support showing films, giving slide shows/talks. For events requiring the amplification of musicians, for example, it is likely that hirers will need to provide some of their own equipment. Refreshments and Catering
Catering and refreshments may be an important part of your hire. To support this, we have a sizeable bar area that can be set out in a variety of ways. The kitchen has a large cooker, commercial dishwasher with a four minute cycle, water boiler, freezer and fridge space, along with an extensive range of crockery, cutlery and glasses. The hall has a licence to sell alcohol which, along with your other catering/refreshment needs, we are very happy to talk through with you. Please get in touch via our contact form.
